According to an ex-girlfriend, Andrew Tate used force and violence.
Social media influencer Andrew Tate allegedly encouraged a lady in their relationship to work for his webcam business before being violent and domineering. Given that she made the decisions deliberately, she struggles with the idea of being a victim, but she is aware that he utilized psychological manipulation to gain control over her. In Romania, authorities are detaining Andrew and his brother Tristan as they look into claims of rape and human trafficking using the "lover-boy approach" to trick or coerce people into working in their chat rooms.
Tate is accused of manipulating Sophie, who makes this claim under an assumed name. She has since joined the investigating team and recently shared her story with File on 4 on BBC Radio 4. Tate charmed his way into her Facebook conversation at first, making her feel as though she could trust him. She and he got in touch online and she decided to travel to Bucharest to see him. Tate persuaded her to work for his webcam business as their relationship grew, tricking her into thinking it was the appropriate thing to do through psychological means. He allegedly used phrases like "If you love me, you would do it" and "If you care about me, you would do it" to subtly undermine her.
Sophie says that although though she had previously worked in the adult entertainment sector, she felt driven to work for Tate's webcam business because she was afraid of losing him. His mission was to "meet a female, go on a few dates, sleep with her, get her to fall in love with him and do anything he says, and then get her on webcam to get rich together," according to Tate's now-deleted internet page. Sophie disputes his assertion that none of his employees had previously worked in the adult entertainment sector and that more than half of them were his girlfriends. For her six hours of work, she made about £800, of which Tate kept half. Tate allegedly became more cruel and domineering over time, even imposing his will, according to Sophie.
Sophie says she ultimately left the relationship after having a moment of clarity that" constantly feeling inferior to him" wasn't right. " I realised I could not live like that presently and that it was not normal. I just had to get down from it," she explains." I flash back being at work and I was just so overwhelmed and I'd noway felt a darkness like it." She describes Tate as a" veritably complex man" who was relatively different to the character he presented online where he's known for his high- volume harangues, frequently mugged while smoking a cigar or girdled by his supercars. " He is veritably manipulative, he completely lacks any kind of empathy. He's a egocentric, he is like that 100," she says. " I do not suppose he is emotionally able of feeling love, for anyone or anything, indeed his family, indeed his family- there is just nothing. In the space in our smarts where we feel love and compassion and empathy( in his) it's just a hole, there is nothing there." The BBC put these allegations to Tate through his counsel, but Mateea Petrescu, who handles media requests for the Tate sisters, said they would not note on the claims. Investigators in Romania have verified that six women have been linked as implicit victims of trafficking. But last month, two of the women intimately denied any mistreatment by the Tate sisters, while other women have spoken appreciatively to the BBC about their time spent with Tate. But Sophie says some of these are women who Tate authentically treated well, while others are still under his control. " He is always one step ahead," she says." He'll be aware of the fact he needs as numerous glowing reviews as he does negative bones in order to defend himself. " Inversely, there are going to be girls that will be so infatuated and brainwashed by him that they're noway going to say a bad word. There will also be some that are speaking out of fear because he is hanging ." Police haven't yet filed any charges against the sisters, who have been in detention, along with two Romanian women, since 29 December. They've denied the allegations against them.
